Spaulding serves as a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, making it a center of research, education and advocacy for persons with disabilities. In addition to opening the first new free-standing hospital in Boston in over 30 years, Partners Continuing Care played a leading role in treating many of the most complex cases from the Boston Marathon Bombing. A heartfelt video interview with Mayor Thomas Menino was shared that not only offered his personal experience as a patient but his support in adding a children's playground specially designed to accommodate all challenges. Their magnificent new facility in Charlestown is designed with state of the art services to meet all patients needs as well as preparing them beyond their stay. Their organizational goal is to build a strong culture of employee engagement such that staff are skilled, rewarded and equipped to be integral to the future of the organization, and are successful and proud. Their commitment internally to employees and externally to the community is unparalleled resulting in a strong operating model. In fact, the Human Resources and Marketing functions partner to reach out to the community with staff ambassadors continuously reaching out to under serviced communities such as the LGBT elder community. Compassion, caring and dedication exemplify their values enabling their workforce to provide highest quality of care helping their patient's overcome challenges.

Gentle Giant Moving Company is an awarding winning moving company with more than 30 years of experience offering the highest quality moving, storage facilities and packing for moving with offices through the country. They have consistently been recognized for their ethical, professional practices and dedication to the community and the environment. Larry O'Toole, Founder and President and Ryan Falvey, Vice President of Organizational Development explained their philosophy which is based on the concept that if you hire great people and take care of them as well as empower them to deliver exceptional service, then you will build relationships that create customers for life. Their 'core non-negotiable value' is HEART - honesty, enthusiasm, above and beyond, respect and teamwork. Larry O'Toole, the founder and president, spends time with every single employee during their orientation period and even has a tradition of a 'stadium run' which involves leading new crew members to scale 37 seating sections at Harvard University's roman-style coliseum. This not only establishes a bonding process but engages everyone in an intensive physical workout to assess attitude and work ethic. Moving is a challenging business and requires not only hard work but also exceptional people skills. Ongoing training is provided to deepen self awareness, people skills, empathy, as well as conflict management in order to provide the best service in accordance with their company culture. They also showed a video that relayed their passion for building trusting relationships with co-workers and customers. Another priority for the company is to develop and promote staff into leadership roles, cross-functional and rotational roles, provide ongoing training, skills training, career paths as well as coaching. Their unique and distinct culture is the foundation for which they continue to grow based on a commitment to and history of ongoing community involvement.
