Happy
Spring!
One
of the things that I feel very fortunate to do in my line of work is to meet
new people every day. I find it so rewarding to hear the range of stories from
people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Whether it's having
coffee with a colleague I've known for years, reconnecting with someone I
haven't seen in a while or getting introduced to someone for the first time, it
is inspiring to learn something about each individual that enlightens me. I
just returned from an on-going client engagement in Miami where I have had the
opportunity to provide career development training for several of their
offices. Meeting new people, hearing their stories and being able to play a
part in their career management efforts is beyond exciting for me!
Please
share your career stories and updates with me. I look forward to hearing from
you!

along to others. Thank you!

The
Value of Multigenerational Teams

Do
you currently work with someone as a peer, manager, direct report or other
colleague that was born in a different generation than your own? Chances are
high that your answer is yes. Today's market place has four generations in the
workforce at the same time and slowly creeping up to five. This enhances our
outlook and creativity tremendously offering a depth of perspective we would
not otherwise experience. It also can present challenges that require us to
push our thinking and our practices in new and different ways.
There
are many opportunities to having a multigenerational team. The range of
experiences, beliefs, assets, values, motivations and relationships within
these generations can't be underscored. In fact, they can add tremendous value
to how we do our work, how we collaborate and how we enhance productivity. Of
course, with opportunity, there are always challenges and potential conflicts.
If we embrace the conflicts as inevitable and work to manage them
strategically, the benefits highly outweigh the challenges.

Driven Leadership

Can
you identify your top 5 values and do you allow it to help you build a strong
foundation of personal empowerment and leadership? We make a wide range of
choices and decisions every day. Along the way, we follow an internal voice
that guides us directly or indirectly
and sometimes creates a tug of war
or challenge for us. At times, we may feel this tug and dont quite
understand why and/or cannot identify the source of this struggle. Some of you
may easily resonate with this statement while some of you may be a bit puzzled
by it.
