Happy
2017! I hope your year has been off to a great start and my fellow New
Englanders will agree that the Patriots amazing triumph of this year's Super
Bowl is absolutely a highlight to kick it off!
Many
of you who know me well know that I love quotes and inspirational messages. I
am always copying ones I find on line, writing down ones I hear from a
thoughtful speaker, sharing ones from well known authors, as well as creating
many of my own. A couple of years ago, a colleague of mine, Paige Arnof-Fenn,
introduced me to the Women's Advantage Shared Wisdom Calendar when she gave me
a copy. Paige's quotes were included in there and I truly enjoyed starting
every day with an inspirational quote from a successful woman business owner
from across the US and around the world. I was inspired to submit some of my
quotes the following year and the last couple of years, I'm happy to say my
quotes were selected to be included.
One
of my favorites that is included in this year's calendar is "Stay positive and
be happy". I'll leave you with one more that I hope you find inspiring to kick
off 2017 with much purpose and focus ... "Successful professionals have 3
commonalities: 1) they know what they have to offer; 2) they know what they
want; and 3) they know how to ask for it!"
Please
share your leadership and career stories and updates with me. I look forward to
hearing from you! If I can be of any help to you or your organization in the
areas of executive coaching, career coaching, team coaching, leadership
development, management training and/or career development, please do not
hesitate to reach out.
Recently,
I was thrilled to be invited back to Mix 104.1 FM for another chat with Mike
Mullaney for his CBS Radio Sunday morning magazine show which aired this past

managing our careers in our competitive marketplace. Look for it soon on my
website.
Due
to many requests, I am very excited to be holding a special 'Personal Branding
and Marketing Yourself' workshop on 3/16th targeted for young professionals
early in their careers or just starting their careers. If you know of someone

Effective
career management practices are essential for organizations to remain relevant
and competitive in our global marketplace. The selection of appropriate
initiatives to yield the best results will differ from organization to
organization. There is no one-size-fits-all program or combination of specific
practices that will work for every company. The ideal model that is best-suited
for each environment depends on their due diligence process that identifies the
company's mission, values, competitive posture, culture, goals and business
strategy. This sets the foundational philosophy and direction that will
determine the need to best leverage choices.
Every
organization has the ability to develop, implement and manage talent management
initiatives that are aligned with their organizational culture and linked to
