Dear Colleague, |
February 2018 |
Happy
2018! The beginning of a new year is a common time to reestablish our goals for
the coming 12 months. Most often, our goals will (and should) include
developmental opportunities for ourselves. One of the greatest benefits an
organization can offer to their talent is coaching. Not only is it an
investment in valued individuals, but also in the department, function and
organization. Providing the benefit of coaching acknowledges individual talents
and their potential as a key business strategy. It embraces and enacts a
culture that believes human capital is their greatest asset and the foundation
of gaining a competitive edge within the marketplace.
There
continues to be a high level of demand for coaching within organizations and
viewed as an effective retention tool. In addition, I have seen an increased
demand by individuals seeking out coaching services on their own. I wrote a
blog a while back on this topic

Competitive Edge"
Please
take a moment to read and/or share some other recent blogs, events and podcasts
below. I had the pleasure of going back to visit my friend, Mike Mullaney, at
104.1 FM Radio for another chat and am also pleased to be a featured Executive
Coach in the February issue of Corporate Vision Magazine. Please take a
moment to check out below. I look forward to hearing from you and your recent
updates!
Best

YOU Managing Your Career on Your OWN Terms?
My recent blog on
Only YOU can own and manage your
career. It takes much initiative and focus to do so well and in a manner that
effectively produces desired results. It begins with a lot of exploration of
our needs, strengths, motivations, values, interests and aspirations. In order
to identify the terms that will meet our needs, we must first reveal what they
are and prioritize the importance of each. When we are able to have this kind
of clarity, we will see rewards and enjoy a fulfilling career that allows us to
maximize our potential, development and success. Know what you have to offer,
what you want and how to ask for it!

Emotional intelligence is our
ability to identify and manage our own emotions, as well as recognize that of
others and groups. It requires effective communication between the rational and
emotive centers of our brain; it represents the path between feeling and
reason. The brain science surrounding EQ is quite powerful and compelling.
