Dear Colleague,
Today,
more than ever, leaders must exemplify compassionate leadership. We know what a
difference it makes when people feel valued, heard, appreciated and
acknowledged for their contributions. Taking time to express interest and
concern indicates a level of care that is essential to build trust and
credibility. All employees want and need to know their leader cares. Showing
transparency, kindness and genuine vulnerability makes a leader relatable.
Is
compassion a learned skill or is it innate? As learning leaders, it can be
developed further on the continuum. To heighten our level of compassion, we
must start with a foundation of openness, understanding, empathy and
perceptiveness. One thing I always challenge myself to do is seek to understand
and then to be understood. How do you challenge yourself?
I look forward to hearing from you!
My panel discussion series continue this year on a quarterly
